After serving our country and community for twenty years, carrying the yoke of my professional and personal demands had left my usual vigor for life lacking and underwhelming; I was depleted. My standard tactic of muddying my consciousness with hours of internet distractions and the daily drama of life had brought no leisurely recharge as they had done in the past.

It was time to reflect and look into my heart, to recharge my life, and experience “real, reality” not disconnected from my true desires, but seeking them out and naming them. I know Felisa from her Rolfing practice (book an appointment now!), and her words are golden to me. So, I decided to speak with the horses and see what they’d say.

I was surprised to see that the horses did, in fact, have a lot to say! But I had to first be willing to listen and pay attention. An activity that obliterated my previous notions of reality and my part in it. My session with those powerful creatures showed me how delicate and articulate horses can be, despite their hulking bodies and lack of human-recognized communicative expressions. Since my session, the dialogue with the horses has really resonated with me, allowing me more clarity about life and my place in it.
